Biography

Steve Coffaro is a business lawyer who focuses his practice on commercial litigation matters, including corporate, intellectual property, environmental, employment and real estate related disputes. He represents both public and private companies and individuals and has actively represented clients in litigation matters pending in state and federal courts. He is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Steve has experience related to the telemarketing industry and has extensive knowledge of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and related Federal Trade Commission and other federal and state laws regulating companies in this industry. He has defended several class actions involving alleged violations of these laws.

Steve serves as co-practice group leader of the firm's Litigation Group.

Representative Work

Currently representing corporate defendant in class action alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)

Recently represented a manufacturing client in an action alleging liability under the Indiana Environmental Legal Action statute related to alleged historical contamination at a manufacturing site.

Obtained a jury verdict for damages in a case in United States District Court in Kentucky involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty and interference with customer relationships

Obtained a favorable jury verdict in defense of claims in Tennessee Chancery Court involving allegations of fraud

Currently representing plaintiff corporation in an action alleging unfair competition under the Lanham Act

Currently litigation several matters involving actions to quiet title to real estate

Representing shareholder in derivative breach of fiduciary duty action against other shareholders in Indiana entity
