Invested in the Community
At KMK, we believe that being your legal partner goes beyond just advising on the specific matters brought to us. Every firm looks for ways to explain their value to their clients, at KMK, we also look for ways to be of value to our community. KMK’s heritage includes making an actual, direct impact on the communities we serve, a tradition passed on from our founders and a commitment that remains important at KMK.

We encourage everyone in our firm to look for ways—consistent with their own individual interests—to improve our community. And we’re proud of the volunteer efforts we see everyday from members of our firm. Our long tradition of community service is as varied as our staff’s interests, but it generally involves contributing to the community and providing pro bono services to organizations devoted to the betterment of communities and to individuals who are unable to pay for needed legal services.

KMK's Pro Bono Contributions
For many years, KMK has made a strong commitment to the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, both in terms of financial support as well as providing legal services to indigent clients. Many of our attorneys have donated hours of service to non-profits and other charitable organizations, totaling more than 3,000 pro bono hours each year.

KMK's Commitment to Community Service, Civic Service, and Charitable Support
KMK financially supports more than 150 local charities, schools, and civic institutions each year, continuing the tradition of community service that the firm has demonstrated since its founding. The firm also actively participates in many charitable and civic causes, including fundraising walks and runs, community care work sponsored by United Way and ArtsWave, serving dinner at Anna Louise Inn, supporting and raising funds for the Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Fund (CISE), and sponsoring interns annually from DePaul Cristo Rey High School.

Community involvement has been, and will remain, I’m sure, something that we are proud of and we foster and encourage. I think it broadens a person, makes a person a better lawyer because it requires them to handle matters they might not have experienced before.” - John L. Muething
