Biography

Collin Ryan is an experienced litigator who represents clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country, both at the trial and appellate level. Collin’s commercial litigation practice spans a broad range of disputes, including antitrust, business torts, contract disputes, class action and multi-district litigation, intellectual property, product liability and mass torts, shareholder and corporate governance, securities, and general corporate litigation.

Collin also focuses a significant portion of his practice on False Claims Act (qui tam) litigation, where he has represented clients in numerous False Claims Act cases around the country, including in Arizona, Georgia, and Texas. Collin has extensive experience representing parties in FCA cases involving complex and significant fraud across a variety of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical, and military defense. Collin has also counseled and advised clients regarding active government investigations, including subpoenas and civil investigative demands issued by the Department of Justice.

Collin earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected into the Order of the Coif. He was an editor for the Cincinnati Law Review and also served as a Legal Public Interest Volunteer. While in law school, Collin also served as a judicial extern in the chambers of the Honorable Patrick F. Fischer, then of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals.

Representative Work

Represented the State of Ohio in prosecution of claims against opioid distributors for causing the opioid epidemic in Ohio.

Represented Major League Soccer team in breach of contract claims over naming rights sponsorship deal for new soccer stadium.

Represented egg producer in defense of antitrust class action claims alleging industry-wide supply reduction and price-fixing conspiracy.

Represented closely-held corporation and majority shareholders in defense of breach of fiduciary duty claims brought by minority shareholders.

Represented former corporate officers in prosecution of claims against corporation and private equity firm for breaching/interfering with share redemption agreements.    

Represented telecommunications company in defense of fraud claims arising out of computer equipment financing transactions. 

Represented several broker-dealers in securities trading investigation.
