Keating Muething & Klekamp Expands Real Estate Team

The law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law®) has added four attorneys from Aronoff, Rosen & Hunt LPA. Stephen R. Hunt, Richard A. Paolo, and Carey K. Steffen have joined KMK Law as Of Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, and Alexander C. Johnson has joined as an Associate.

Stephen R. (Steve) Hunt has practiced law for more than 40 years handling a wide variety of legal matters and now concentrates his practice in the areas of condominium law, commercial real estate law, corporate law, zoning, planning, and development. His clients include large corporations, developers, homebuilders, and numerous homeowners and condominium associations. Hunt earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1980. He earned his B.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, cum laude, in 1977. Hunt is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.

Richard A. (Rick) Paolo has more than 38 years’ experience in real estate law, real estate financing, zoning and land use, and general corporate law. His clients include local, regional and national companies and individuals in the acquisition, financing, development, re-zoning and sale of real estate. Paolo is a licensed title agent and was responsible for the operation of two title agencies with his former law firms. Paolo earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1982. He earned his B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, cum laude with honors, in 1979. Paolo is admitted to practice law in Ohio.

Carey K. Steffen has more than 24 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate law, title insurance claims defense, litigation, and foreclosure law. Steffen is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association and is a specialist in residential real property law and is past member of their Real Property Specialty Board. Steffen earned her J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University in 1999 and became a licensed attorney in 2000. She earned her B.S. from Northern Kentucky University in 1996. Steffen is admitted to practice law in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.

Alexander C. (Alex) Johnson advises clients on a wide variety of commercial real estate and business transactions, including the acquisition, sale, public and private financing, development and leasing of commercial properties. Johnson earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2024. While in law school, he served as an Associate Member and Comments Editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Johnson also served as a judicial extern for Senior Judge Michael R. Barrett of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Johnson earned his B.A. in 2019 from Wabash College in Indiana. Johnson is admitted to practice law in Ohio.
