Keating Muething & Klekamp Hires Four New Attorneys

The Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law®) is pleased to welcome four new attorneys: Eric C. Cook, Joshua P. Redlinger, Samuel B. Weaver, and Jake C. Wittman.

Eric C. Cook is Of Counsel in the firm’s Business Representation & Transactions Group and is a key member of the firm’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team. Cook is a business-minded attorney that provides strategic and practical guidance at the intersection of health, data privacy, and technology, ensuring his clients receive the best possible advice. Cook assists businesses in many industries navigate various data privacy and security regulations and enforcement with a particular focus on health and wellness, life sciences, healthcare, and advertising concerning risks from federal and state privacy and security laws, including ethics and AI.  Cook’s practice includes supporting businesses in navigating the complex regulations surrounding the utilization of health data. He advises businesses on compliance with the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Breach Notification Rule (HBNR) and Section 5 of the FTC Act, state-specific health privacy laws (e.g. Washington’s My Health My Data Act (MHMDA)), comprehensive state privacy laws, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, as well as guidance surrounding the use of tracking technologies such as pixels, Chatbots, and session-replay. Cook earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2012. He earned his B.S. from Miami University in 2009. Cook is licensed to practice law in Ohio.

Joshua P. Redlinger is an associate in the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group. Redlinger’s work focuses on assisting established and emerging businesses with a broad range of general corporate issues, including entity selection, formation, and governance, corporate restructuring and reorganization, mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings and venture capital financing, and commercial lending and debt refinancing. Redlinger earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2022, magna cum laude. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 2017. Redlinger is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Michigan.

Samuel B. Weaver is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial and general corporate litigation matters. Prior to joining KMK Law, Weaver served as a law clerk to the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr., U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where he assisted with cases in both the Ninth and Sixth Circuits. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable David L. Bunning, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky. Weaver earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky, J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2022, magna cum laude. While in law school, he gained significant work experience, including as a judicial extern for the Honorable Benjamin J. Beaton, U.S. District Court, Western District of Kentucky, and as an intern in Kentucky’s Office of the Solicitor General, where he drafted briefs and motions for certiorari-stage and merits litigation in the U.S. Supreme Court and Kentucky Supreme Court. Weaver spent nearly a year working for a respected defense and education firm in Lexington, Kentucky. Weaver earned his B.A. in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State University in 2018. Weaver is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.

Jake C. Wittman practices in the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group. He represents lenders and borrowers in connection with various forms of debt financing transactions. He also assists clients with general corporate and commercial matters. Prior to joining KMK, Wittman practiced law at Frost Brown Todd LLP in their Cincinnati, Ohio office with a focus on commercial finance and real estate. Wittman earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2020. During his time in law school, Jake clerked at Luxottica of America, Inc. and interned with the University of Cincinnati’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic. Wittman earned his B.S. from The Ohio State University in 2016, magna cum laude. Wittman is licensed to practice law in Ohio.
