Our Mass Tort Settlement Trusts and Insurance Coverage Group (“MTI Group”) is a multidisciplinary team of more than 25 lawyers and other professionals who have been serving mass tort settlement trusts and other insured parties for more than 25 years. Lawyers in the KMK MTI Group pioneered the creation and administration of the nation’s first 524(g) asbestos settlement trusts, including pursuance and securing of insurance coverage proceeds that still fund these trusts. Today, the KMK MTI Group represents many of the operating asbestos trusts in the United States, servicing their legal needs in every area, including, fund administration, claims resolution, insurance coverage management, litigation of ongoing bankruptcy court issues, asset management (including securities and real estate assets), corporate governance, and taxation.
